Well I never managed to fish on Thursday night as I had a very unexpected late finish at work, I did nip down "Heron" quickly for a walk and found out that a few fish had been out including a couple of the Big Girls, a big well done to Kev for landing the "Patch Common" at 36lb+, well done mate I really hope that one graces my net in the future!
I left for Devon at 3pm on Friday, a little later than I had hoped, we paid the price as well.......7 hours sat on the motorway!
We arrived at 10pm and headed straight for the pub, its safe to say I fell off the wagon pretty much straight away, so much for being tea total!
A good time was had by all though and it was nice to catch up with my old man and friends.
The drive home was alot better (apart from my thumping head, reckon the beer was funny! I felt great when I went to bed!) the roads were clear and we got back in 4 hours which isn't to bad at all.
The weather is looking pretty good towards the end of the week, so I'm hoping to do my normal quick overnighter on Heron this Friday straight from work, its certainly throwing a few fish up now and seems to be getting a bit quieter.
Right time to get a few things done but before I go I thought it might be worth mentioning that my old friend "Dumpy" that I caught twice last year at 32lb & 33lb was caught yesterday at a new top weight of 36lb+ well done that man!
I will let you know how Fridays session goes and hopefully I will report back with news of a chunk!
Be Lucky,
Smithy
