Welcome!

I decided to write this blog as a replacement for my Diary thread on my own forum, this should help me keep it much neater and in order (Also no1 as he is known started one and it looks brilliant!).

I will start off by telling you a bit about myself and what Ive been up to so far.

My name is James but I am known as "Smithy"

I've been fishing since I was 4 years old targeting local stretches of the River Nene for Roach, Perch and Chub. Then at the age of 12 whilst on a local day ticket water I hooked and landed my first Carp at a massive 6 lb!!!! The sheer beauty and power of that first fish had me hooked and a Carp Angler was born.

From that day on I spent all of my pocket money getting the best kit as I could afford, often relying on hand me downs from friends.

Once I began work a whole new world was opened to me and I began to fish some stunning lakes in the South West as I was living down there at the time, I caught a few and was happy but it was a couple of years later when I moved back to Northamptonshire to settle down with a family of my own that I really got my teeth into the world of Specimen Carp Angling.

I'm lucky enough to be located very close to a few areas which are extremely well known in the Big Carp world, especially the Nene Valley which I believe will grow massively across the grapevine in the next few years.

Already this year I have taken some stunning fish to Mid 30s from my Syndicate waters, with the most impressive and my Target Fish pictured above "The Big Linear".

I'm looking forward to another year on these waters, there is still loads of fish I would love to grace my net especially one of the rather large commons which are on the complex.

I will keep these pages updated as often as I can and I hope you enjoy reading them.

Cheers,

Smithy
